Garrard County VINELink Coverage
Kentucky runs VINE as a free automated service for custody information and alerts. The official Kentucky Department of Corrections VINE page lists its data sources. These include county jails, prisons, mental-health facilities, and juvenile-detention centers. The Kentucky Attorney General VINE page adds detail. Local jails and adult correctional facilities sit under statewide coverage. A participating record can show custody status, release details, and the holding institution's contact information.
Garrard County creates an odd search problem. It runs no county jail. Someone arrested by the Garrard County Sheriff's Office, Lancaster Police, or Kentucky State Police may be taken out of the county. That person may end up at Lincoln County Regional Jail or Boyle County Detention Center. No official source says which contract facility enters each Garrard arrest into VINE. Agency labels vary too. Search the whole state. A blank result still does not prove that no arrest happened.
Remember what the tool is. VINE is a custody tracker, not a booking-photo archive. It may follow a person from local holding into state custody. Photos are a separate search. Garrard court matters belong with the court record.
Search a Garrard County Inmate
Start at VINELink and pick Kentucky. The official state FAQ permits a search by partial name or offender ID. Try the full name first. A jail or DOC number separates people with similar names. Expect Boyle or Lincoln, not Garrard, on the holding facility. Check spelling variants if the first pass fails.
- Open VINELink and choose Kentucky.
- Select the offender or custody search.
- Enter the person's name or known offender ID.
- Compare the facility, agency, and status.
- Review both local and state records when relevant.
- Confirm urgent results with the named facility.
Several matches demand a closer look. Compare only what the official screen shows. Never share personal identifiers to narrow the list. A local record and a state record can belong to the same person at different stages, so Kentucky advises registering against both when you need notices from either. The VINELink search interface is where the Kentucky lookup begins.

This neutral interface view identifies the official search route without exposing anyone's custody record.
What Garrard VINELink Shows
What you see depends on the record the facility supplied. Kentucky describes a status-style result, not a full arrest report. Context matters. An offender number belongs to the reporting custody system. A case number belongs to the court. A release from one jail can also mean a transfer rather than freedom from all custody.
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name | Compare other shown details to avoid a same-name error. |
| Custody status | May show in custody, out of custody, released, or another current state. |
| Facility | May identify Boyle, Lincoln, a state institution, or another location. |
| Reporting agency | Names the source tied to that record, not every agency involved. |
| Offender ID | Identifies the jail or correctional record, not the court case. |
| Status details | Reflect the latest supplied update and may need direct confirmation. |
| Facility contact | Can give the institution address or phone for verification. |
VINE shows no case outcome. A disposition is the court's recorded result, such as a dismissal, acquittal, plea, or conviction. Custody can end while the case continues. CourtNet or the Garrard Circuit Court Clerk tracks what actually happened after the arrest.
Register Garrard Custody Alerts
Once the right record is chosen, select the status-change notification option. Phone, text, and email are among the delivery methods offered. Kentucky VINE phone registration uses a four-digit PIN. Entering that PIN when the automated call arrives confirms receipt and stops the repeat calls, so keep it private.
- Open the verified custody record.
- Choose the notification option.
- Select each suitable contact method.
- Create the four-digit telephone PIN.
- Confirm and save the registration details.
- Update the registration when contact details change.
The Kentucky DOC page says an unanswered notice can keep trying. That retry window can last up to 24 hours. Jail calls repeat every 30 minutes until one is acknowledged. State-institution release alerts generally begin about 72 hours before release. Those timing rules govern delivery only. Delivery speed is never guaranteed for a brand-new arrest. The Kentucky DOC VINE information page covers the free service and the registration process.

The state guidance is the authority for Kentucky notifications and help contacts.
Two Jails Change Garrard Checks
Garrard's contract-housing setup is the biggest local wrinkle. Boyle County Detention Center posts an official current-inmate route. A county statement there says information can include charges, bond details, and photographs. Lincoln County Regional Jail offers a current-inmate route too. Its public material sets no fixed photo policy or update schedule. VINE can add alerts to a participating record. It still cannot tell you which jail received the person.
A blank search calls for direct legwork. Check both official facility routes, then call the likely jail. Boyle County Detention Center sits at 1860 South Danville Bypass in Danville and lists 859-238-1100. Lincoln County Regional Jail sits at 100 Lancaster Street in Stanford and lists 606-365-4580. Ask whether the person is held, transferred, released, or still being processed. Staff cannot predict court outcomes.
Garrard Alerts Without SAVIN
Garrard County has no stand-alone SAVIN portal. The sheriff's office offers no notification app either. Its county page points to a sheriff Facebook group, though those posts work as announcements rather than a live custody feed. Booking updates and release notices are not promised there. For qualifying records, Kentucky VINE stands as the working notification path for Garrard County arrests and custody changes. The Attorney General's Kentucky VINE overview stresses that automated alerts cannot substitute for a personal safety plan.

Timing is why that warning matters. Someone can be released or transferred before an alert ever arrives. Kentucky VINE help answers at 1-800-511-1670. Kentucky Victim Services adds 502-564-5061, toll-free 877-687-6818, and OVS.Help@ky.gov. Register several contact methods if the live system allows it. Keep direct agency numbers on hand.
Verify Garrard Inmate Status
A fresh Garrard County arrest may not show up right away. Intake takes time. The county publishes no official 24-hour booking feed. The Daily Arrest Report explains the current-custody fallback. VINELink entries can lag a new booking. An alert can trail its own trigger. Call the facility when release, transfer, or safety timing is urgent.
Federal and immigration custody need separate tools. VINE misses some Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE, and U.S. Marshals records. Use the BOP locator for federal prison custody and the ICE locator for immigration detention. A blank federal result does not rule out a new local booking. A blank local result does not prove federal custody.
Write down the time and source of every check. Inmate status can shift fast. If an official roster and VINE disagree, call the named facility and lean on the court record for the legal outcome.
